Rev. Doctor Tim Bauler, Pastor

 Pastor Tim is a native of Illinois, growing up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. He attended college in Arkansas and departed from there not only with his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and History but also with a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army and his new bride, Marla Buswell of Little Rock, Arkansas.

He served nine years as an officer in the Army before answering God’s call to pursue seminary education. While studying at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque Iowa he served as student pastor at Community Congregational Church (UCC) in Manchester, Iowa. Since completing his Master of Divinity he has pastored churches in Illinois, Pennsylvania and Georgia. He also served as a Chaplain in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves, retiring from the Reserves in December 2005. 

Tim completed all requirements necessary to be granted the Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in May of 2006. He had additional coursework at Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri and Trinity Episcopal School of Ministry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His wife, Marla, is also an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA. In addition to her undergraduate degree in Business, she holds Masters Degrees from both the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

They have three wonderful children and a beautiful daughter-in-law, Lindsey (Williams). Lindsey is the daughter of Dave and Robin Williams of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She is married to Tim and Marla’s oldest son, Tim Jr.

Pastor Tim enjoys serving the church and the work of a pastor. When not at church he enjoys his family, running, reading History books and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.




Gretchen Fuller, Director of Music 


Gretchen Fuller is a lifelong Canton resident and Registered Nurse. She is married to Butch and they have one daughter, Samantha, son-in-law Jarrod and one grandson, Cody Butch. 

Gretchen majored in piano performance at the University of Illinois and received the Outstanding Pianist Award there. 

Promoting End of Life initiatives and quality of care for terminally ill patients is very important to Gretchen. She has served as hospice manager at OSF Hospice, an affiliate of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Gretchen was Hospice Manager at OSF Hospice for six years and is currently employed in case management at OSF. Gretchen was the first hospice nurse with Graham Hospital’s Spoon River Hospice. 

Over the years, Gretchen and Butch have been active in supporting the youth of Canton. Gretchen has taught and coached countless Canton area residents and played for many musical productions. Butch has served as President of the Canton High School Booster Club for many years and remains active with it.

Barb Berry, Administrative Assistant 

Barb has worked at the First Presbyterian Church for one and a half years. She totally enjoys her job. She is married to Jack Berry and they live in Farmington. They have three children, nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She enjoys reading, knitting, and making greeting cards.

Nancy has been a member of First Presbyterian Church for fifty-four years. She has served as Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and youth group leader. She has served on Deacon and Elder boards. She is currently serving as Nursery Attendant.

She is married to Bob McNally. They have two daughters, Amanda and Lisa. She likes to go to auctions, read and shop.
